David Austin is a Managing Director of Northleaf Capital Partners Ltd. He is a member of the Investment Committee and oversees the origination， evaluation and monitoring of primary and secondary Fund Investments and Direct Co-Investments and is primarily responsible for the investment sourcing and manager research relating to Northleaf’s North American buyout investments， including North American mid-market buyout opportunities. Mr. Austin serves on the advisory boards of several partnerships within Northleaf’s portfolio.
Prior to joining Northleaf’s predecessor， TD Capital Private Equity Investors， in 2005， Mr. Austin was a principal at Voorheis & Co.， a shareholder advisory and investment firm， where he assisted institutional investors on a range of strategic， financial and management issues related to their portfolio companies and had responsibility for a variety of principal investments. Previously， Mr. Austin was in the investment banking group of BMO Nesbitt Burns where he worked on a variety of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions assignments.
Mr. Austin received an A.B. （Honours） from Harvard University and a B.A （Law） and a Master’s in Law and Economics from Oxford University on a Rhodes scholarship. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
