George Zakem is a Managing Director of Northleaf Capital Partners Ltd. He is co-head of Northleaf’s infrastructure investment program and is primarily responsible for infrastructure deal sourcing， market research， investment due diligence and execution and asset management.
Prior to joining Northleaf in 2011， Mr. Zakem spent a decade at the Macquarie Group， most recently as a Managing Director and head of the Public-Private Partnerships （PPP） group in Toronto， where he led numerous greenfield PPP bids， M&A transactions and capital raising initiatives. Previously， Mr. Zakem was a Vice President in the Government and Infrastructure Projects Group at TD Securities. Prior to TD Securities， Mr. Zakem worked as a project management engineer in the international development field on projects located throughout Asia， South America， the Caribbean， Africa and the Middle East.
Mr. Zakem received a BSc. in Engineering （Mechanical） from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA from Dalhousie University and is a registered Professional Engineer.
